CDE Certified Diabetes Educator Certification Exam Study Guide
Health care professionals whose roles are specific as diabetes educators, are given the privilege to apply for certification as Diabetes Educator. This exam however, is not made available to those who merely perform diabetes related practices as part of other usual routine occupational duties.
The Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) credential demonstrates that the certified health care professional is properly equipped with specialized knowledge, thus providing quality care to those with diabetes. Certification is not required by law for employment in the field, but will definitely increase your chance for employment, and benefit you in terms of job promotions, salary increases, etc.
This exam is administered by the National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators (NCBDE) which is an independent organization established to promote the interests of diabetes educators and the public at large.
CDE Certified Diabetes Educator Certification Exam
The CDE certification exam is composed of 200 multiple-choice questions, and is allotted 4 hours to complete. Each question is designed to test if the candidate possesses the knowledge necessary to perform a certain task or has the ability to apply it to a job situation.
